Benefits of FUE Hair Transplant

The term “FUE” stands for “follicular unit extraction”. This hair transplant technique at Utah Hair MD is typically done with NeoGraft. With this procedure, each individual hair follicle is removed one by one from the patient’s donor area and then transplanted to the bald or thinning area(s) on the head. This method of hair restoration is so popular because there are no visible scars like there is with the strip-method, or FUT. Instead of having a linear scar you are left with small 1 millimeter punch marks on the back of the head that are only visible when the hair is completely shaved.

Customization

FUE hair restoration is customized to each individual’s needs and desired hair line. During a consultationwith Utah Hair MD, the areas of thinning or balding are discussed and a plan agreed upon by both parties.  The bulk of grafts can be used for certain areas of the scalp while less can be used for other areas needing less attention.

Positive Outcomes

When FUE is done by an experienced, qualified surgeon the results are consistently positive. Our NeoGraft technology is extremely innovative and accurate with both the extraction and placement leading to higher success rates and happy patients.

Results with hair transplant surgery are not instant. During the first two to three weeks, the newly transplanted grafts typically shed (fall out), which is completely normal. After shedding, new growth is apparent for most patients within three to four months. Full results can be expected around one year post surgery.

FUE Pricing

Hair transplant surgery ranges quite a bit in cost depending on how many grafts are needed to achieve a desired result. Most places that offer FUE are fairly competitive in price. We often recommend getting two to three quotes from different providers and assessing how comfortable you feel with each one before making a decision. We also recommend not letting price determine where you ultimately decide where to have your hair transplant procedure done. Experience and expertise varies and it’s important to see someone specialized with an extensive amount of experience with many treatment options for hair restoration. This is a really big decision that can end up costing you time and money if not done right the first time.
