If you are someone who is exploring hair loss treatment or hair transplant surgery, you’ve come to the best place in SLC, Draper and surrounding areas of Utah. Our surgeons have both the creative eye and the surgical expertise that is extremely crucial when it comes to hair transplant surgery. Both are extremely important to achieve the most natural looking results.
Follicular Unit Extraction
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is performed with the most advanced follicular unit harvesting and implantation system, NeoGraft. The FUE method has quickly become the most popular method used when it comes to hair transplant surgery because it does not involve any incisions, which means less downtime. This method is a sub-type of FUT or the “strip method”, and in many ways is similar.
NeoGraft works by utilizing a vacuum-like suction to extract and implant the grafts, making it more efficient and much quicker than manual FUE options. As mentioned above, this advanced method does not involve any incisions. Instead, the back of the patient’s scalp is trimmed, and each individual graft is obtained using the NeoGraft device. This leaves small 1 millimeter punch marks where each graft was obtained. These tiny punch marks are difficult to see once healed but are visible if the scalp is completely shaved.
Follicular Unit Transplant
The first hair transplant method was the Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT or Strip Method). This technique is tried-and-true and is still a popular hair transplant option. This technique does leave a linear scar on the back of the scalp, making it ideal for individuals who wear their hair slightly longer.
The strip method involves removing a strip of hair from the area that is most resistant to balding, the back of the scalp. Once the grafts are harvested and implanted to the balding areas of the head, the patient is left with a linear scar that can easily be concealed with a longer hair style.
